About Red Nose

Red Nose is Australia’s leading authority on safe sleep, safer pregnancy advice, and bereavement support for those affected by the loss of a pregnancy, stillbirth, or the death of a baby or child.

We rely on the generosity of the community through Red Nose Day and other fundraising events, as well as our partnerships with small businesses and corporations, to fund our services.

Our Grief and Loss services, including our programs tailored for Indigenous communities, are partly funded by the Commonwealth and State Governments. These services are part of our broader mission to provide support, raise awareness, and ensure the well-being of families during some of life’s most difficult times.

The Red Nose Grief and Loss services are designed to offer compassionate guidance, resources, and information to families experiencing the devastating effects of loss. The content on the website has been developed in collaboration with bereaved parents and Red Nose Australia’s Bereavement Team, who are highly qualified and experienced practitioners in the field of grief and loss.

As a community services organisation working within the broader healthcare sector, Red Nose adheres to the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights to ensure we deliver services in a way that respects your rights and needs. This Charter, developed by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare, was created with input from people across Australia.

We encourage you to learn more about your rights when accessing services from Red Nose. You can download the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights in English Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights (second edition) – A4 Accessible | Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care or access the simple English version Versions of the Charter | Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.

The Charter is also available in 28 additional languages The Charter translations | Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and in Braille by contacting the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care. If you have trouble accessing the Charter or have any questions about how it applies at Red Nose, please call us at 1300 998 698.

“I found meeting people in real life who were going through a similar journey helped me greatly. It was so healing to be able to support one another, listen to and share our experiences without judgement or anyone feeling uncomfortable. Without a doubt the peer support I received through Red Nose immensely helped me mentally and emotionally during the times that I needed it the most”
