We are delighted to share with you that the beautiful memorial mural at the Todd Fremantle memorial centre has been extended.
For more than twenty years, families have been remembering their babies and children at the Red Nose Remembrance Garden at the Todd Freemantle Centre, our office based in Mt Gravatt.
Using the form below, you can register to add a plaque to remember your baby or child on the beautiful rainforest or beach mural in our Remembrance Garden. The cost of your plaque is covered by Red Nose. If you would are remembering multiple babies or children, you may choose to include all names on one plaque, or place multiple orders. If you have any questions prior to completing the form, please contact Ashleigh on 07 3171 6060 or ashleighrousseaux@rednose.org.au.
The garden is open 24/7 for you to visit at your convenience.
Some families visit on their baby’s birthday or anniversary. Others spend Mother’s or Father’s Day in the garden. We encourage you to visit the garden whenever it feels right for you.
What happens next?
After placing your order, your plaque details will be shared with our supplier. Once we receive your plaque, our team will be in touch with you to organise a time to meet and place your plaque. If you aren’t able to visit in person, we can arrange for another bereaved parent to place your plaque on your behalf. In this scenario, we will send you photos so that you can nominate your preferred place on the mural. We will also send you photos of your plaque once it has been placed.
About the mural:
The Remembrance Garden was created in the early 2000s. 276 plaques were placed on the original mural, a beautiful painted waterhole featuring stunning Australian native wildlife. The final plaques were placed on this mural in 2014 and we consider it to now be officially closed. Though we will not be adding new names to the waterhole mural, we will continue to respect and maintain it, while welcoming new families to place their plaques on the rainforest and beach murals.
Renewal project:
In 2021, the mural was extended by local volunteers Renee, Loreena, Adam, Ben and Maynard, who generously donated their time, art, gardening supplies and incredible skills to extend our memorial mural and renew our garden so that more babies and children can be remembered and honoured in our peaceful courtyard. We have since welcomed more than 150 families to place their plaques on the rainforest and beach murals in the garden.
