The Gulf & Surrounds Memory Wall, located on the grounds of the Normanton Hospital, was completed in 2025, through the advocacy of locals Jacinta Ryan and Hayley Reeves, in honour of their beautiful babies and all others remembered by the community.
We invite you to read their story here, and use the order form below to arrange a plaque to honour your little one:

In 2021 and 2023, we experienced the loss of our precious daughters. Following this, conversations within the local community revealed just how many people have been affected by infant and child loss. Recognising the need to create a foundation of support, we hosted our first Red Nose Walk to Remember in October 2023. The event was attended by 50 people in a town of around 1,500 residents.
Living in a remote, transient town can add another layer to experiences of grief and loss. For some, our babies are not buried here, and many of our experiences occur elsewhere, often involving travel for birth. This reinforced our desire to create a permanent space—a community on the ground—to connect, remember, and support one another.
It is important to know that you never walk alone. For updates on local events, please follow the Facebook page Gulf & Surrounds Walk to Remember, or reach out to either of us individually.

What to expect?
Once you have submitted your details, the Red Nose Team will arrange for two plaques to be created: one to be placed on the mural, and one for you as a keepsake. Please allow four weeks for your plaques to be created. Red Nose will reach out during this time with updates.
Our wonderful volunteers, Jacinta Ryan and Hayley Reeves, remain at the heart of this project and will be working with the hospital to arrange sessions for families to connect in love and remembrance, and collectively place their plaques on the mural. Plaques will be posted to the Hospital several times per year, who will reach out to you with details of the next plaque placement date.
We respectfully ask that plaques not be placed directly over the sun to maintain the visual impact of the mural.
