Tuck sheet vs tucked in blankets once baby starts to roll. On the page https://rednose.org.au/article/what-do-we-do-now-that-a-baby-has-started-to-roll-over it suggests to not use a tuck sheet once baby begins to roll to avoid baby being unable to push up. This page also then says to use a tightly tucked in blanket. A tightly tucked blanket would also prevent baby from pushing up in exactly the same way. What is the safe option once baby starts to roll? Thanks

Red Nose Education

Red Nose recommendations when baby starts to roll are:
Cease swaddling/wrapping & move from bassinet to cot - baby needs arms free & space of cot to roll well.
Always place baby on back for sleep.
Avoid head & face covering.
Increase tummy time when awake to help strengthen upper body muscles.

If using blankets ensure they do not come higher than baby’s chest & tuck in to avoid head & face covering. Do not use loose or soft/padded bedding.
If baby moves a lot when rolling, consider using a safe sleeping bag as an alternative to blankets (which is what most parents choose to use once their baby is rolling.)
