‘My name is Chontelle Egan and in November 2022 we lost our son Tyler at 33 weeks (GA) due to a rare genetic disease. Tyler is a younger brother to Jayden (16), Maddison (12) and Alayna (7). After losing Tyler I knew I needed to be involved in raising awareness around pregnancy and infant loss, and around the importance of speaking our babies’ names.

Once I became aware of ‘Say Their Name day’, I was compelled to become involved, and so my idea regarding crochet hearts began.
I have worked with a local crochet group led by Pat Zandona, who has made beautiful crochet hearts. These hearts will then have a personalised tag attached to it with the name of a baby or child who needs to be remembered.
