Red Nose is pleased to be hosting this year’s special Walk to Remember events in various locations across Australia during October.

- When
- 1–29 October 2024
All bereaved families in our community are invited to participate in this year’s walks to remember and honour their precious babies and children.
Each Walk to Remember gives bereaved families a space to come together to remember their babies and find connection with other bereaved parents, families and friends.
The majority of our Walks to Remember are volunteer led and rely on members of the community to plan and host the activities, with support from our Community Engagement team. If you are interested in coordinating a Walk to Remember in a new location in 2025, we’d be very happy to hear from you at community@rednose.org.au.
Join Red Nose as a Volunteer Walk to Remember Coordinators
Make a difference in your local community by volunteering as a Red Nose Walk to Remember Coordinator! As a volunteer in this impactful role, you’ll create a meaningful event for families who have experienced the loss of a baby or child. Your responsibilities include planning and organising the annual Walk to Remember, building local support, promoting the event, and fostering a compassionate environment for bereaved families.
If you possess strong organisation, communication, and empathy skills, we want to hear from you. Event planning or community engagement experience is highly regarded. As a volunteer, you’ll gain personal fulfillment and contribute to a vital cause.
Red Nose will support you on your journey with:
- A comprehensive Walk to Remember manual and supporting documents
- Some feed funding towards the event
- Logistical support for registrations and promotion
- A letter of authority to fundraise
- Online catch ups with other Walk to Remember Coordinators
- Guidance from your local Community Engagement Coordinator
- Debriefing as required
We are looking for volunteers to take up the reigns for these already established events:
- Townsville
- Cairns
- Sunshine Coast
- Fraser Coast
- Gold Coast
If you would like to talk about establishing a walk in a new location, please make sure to include your location in your application. We consider applications received during May, June and July.
Successful applicants are required to complete a Police Check and Working With Children Check.

Order your Walk to Remember T-shirt
We’re again partnering with A Cut Above Byron for personalised event t-shirts, who generously donate a portion of the sale of each Walk to Remember shirt to Red Nose. Tanja requests that you make your order at least three weeks before your Walk, and if you live in WA or anywhere else where mail from the East Coast can be particularly slow, to add an extra week.
