Compassionate Community for Grieving Families
Our Peer Support Groups provide grieving families with a safe, supportive environment to share their experiences, seek comfort, and find strength in the company of others who understand their pain.
As a healthcare professional, you can help guide families to our peer support groups, where they can connect with others who have experienced the loss of a baby or child. These groups are designed to empower families by offering emotional support, shared wisdom, and a sense of belonging as they navigate their grief.
Whether in-person or online, Red Nose’s Peer Support Groups provide grieving families with the opportunity to process their grief, learn coping strategies, and move forward in their own time, supported by those who have been through similar experiences.
How Peer Support Groups Can Help
- Safe, Non-judgmental Environment: Families can share their grief openly and honestly in a safe, confidential space. Our support groups provide a compassionate environment where families can express their emotions without fear of judgment.
- Connection with Others Who Understand: One of the greatest benefits of our peer support groups is the opportunity for families to connect with others who have experienced similar losses. This connection helps reduce the sense of isolation often felt after the death of a child or baby.
- Ongoing Emotional Support: Our support groups offer families a place to return to for ongoing support. Grief is a long-term process, and families can continue to attend groups as they move through different stages of grief.
- Facilitated by Trained Peer Supporters: All of our support groups are facilitated by trained peer supporters who have personally experienced the loss of a baby or child. These facilitators provide guidance and ensure that the groups remain a compassionate and safe environment for all participants.
- Online and In-Person Options: Our support groups are available both online and in-person, offering flexibility for families to access support in the format that suits them best. Whether they are seeking face-to-face interaction or prefer the convenience of online support, there is a group to meet their needs.
- Tailored to Different Grief Experiences: We offer a variety of support groups to address the different types of loss families may have experienced, including pregnancy loss, stillbirth, neonatal death, and sudden unexpected infant death (SUDI). This ensures that families are connected with others who understand their specific grief journey.
