Red Nose and Cure Kids (New Zealand) are pleased to again be collaborating on a Trans-Tasman funding initiative to support research projects aimed at improving the lives of babies and young children.
Trans-Tasman research project proposals of up to AU$190,000 (NZ$200,000) are encouraged. Projects are to be 1-3 years in duration.
Funding is available for research relating to the cause(s) and prevention of sudden and unexpected perinatal and infant death.
Please note that proposals for Trans-Tasman collaborative projects will be considered competitively against proposals received by Cure Kids New Zealand via their parallel review process in New Zealand.
Applications are to be submitted using the application form template, which can be downloaded here.
Applications will undergo a thorough review by the Red Nose National Scientific Advisory Group (NSAG). In addition to scientific excellence, reviewers will consider the following:
1. Potential of the proposed research
2. Adequacy of experimental design
3. Applicant’s training and experience
4. Originality of project
5. Appreciation of methodological problems
6. Value for money
Based on the above criteria, NSAG will shortlist proposals.
Dates:
All applications must be received by 5pm on Monday, September 4, 2017.
Successful applicants will be advised of proposal outcomes by mid-December, 2017.
