The Hunter Region community has got behind this year’s Rhapsody in Red Charity Ball, held at Wests New Lambton on 14 October, to help raise an impressive $56,000 for Red Nose.
Now in its 15th year, the event continues to raise vital funds so that Red Nose can provide important safe sleeping education and support bereaved families in the Hunter Region.
As well as the 244 people who bought tickets to the event and bid generously at the auctions on the night, many individuals and businesses gave their time to help organise and run the event or provided items to be auctioned.
Returning to keep the dance floor happy for their eighth year was Newcastle music agency Gen-R-8. Bereaved parent Brooke Bailey, who designed the program, tickets and the audio visual presentation on the night, has been involved for five years. Wests continued their support of the event by providing their Starlight Room as the venue.
Invaluable support also came from Event Cinemas marketing manager Dana Pichaloff and her Tighes Hill TAFE students, who provided the table decorations and a number of prizes, promoted the event on Facebook, and volunteered to set up the room and help on the night.
Thanks to the MCs Jack Lodge from Event Cinemas and Sarah Farley-Adams from 2NURFM, and Newcastle Dance Academy for their amazing dance number.
