Red Nose would like to advise that applications for the 2018 Trans-Tasman research collaboration funding round are closing on 7 September.
Red Nose and Cure Kids (New Zealand) would like to invite applications for the third year of their collaborative Trans-Tasman funding initiative that supports research projects aimed at improving the lives of babies and young children.
In this round, Red Nose is committed to funding AU$100,000 for research relating to the cause(s) and prevention of sudden and unexpected perinatal and infant death.
Applications are open for either:
- Trans-Tasman research project proposals of up to AU$190,000 (NZ$200,000). Projects are to be 1-3 years in duration, total budget cannot exceed AU$190,000.
- Australian specific proposals (with no New Zealand collaboration) of up to AU$100,000. Projects are to be 1-3 years in duration, total budget cannot exceed AU$100,000.
Applications close 7 September 2018 and successful applicants will be advised of proposal outcomes by early December 2018.
Red Nose recently announced the previous round of Trans-Tasman funding will support a Sleep in Pregnancy Pilot Trial, led by the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital’s Dr Adrienne Gordon in collaboration Professor Lesley McCowan of the University of Auckland, to examine the odds of late stillbirth in women who report that they fall asleep in a supine (on their backs) position.
Red Nose is committed to continuing funding of research and education to reduce to zero the number of babies and children dying sudden and unexpectedly.
