When a baby dies there is often little warning, leaving parents in shock and unable to organise clothing and other items for their baby. Having ready access to appropriately-sized baby clothing, supplied by the Treasured Babies program, can reduce some of the stress for parents at a time that is already very difficult. They are then able to spend as many cherished moments with their baby as possible.
We have patterns for beautiful items that families can keep as mementos or dress their baby in. Please ensure you follow the patterns carefully to ensure the items are fit for purpose.
Being able to give newly bereaved parents the opportunity to choose what their baby wears can be empowering to the parents at a time when they have very little control over their situation.
Donate to the Program
The Treasured Babies Program relies on the generous support of volunteers, organisations and donations of material.
The Treasured Babies items are provided free-of-charge to hospitals and funeral homes for bereaved families and their babies.
Below is what we currently need. If you can assist in any way, please contact: Cindy Furby, Treasured Babies Program Coordinator treasuredbabies@rednose.org.au

Volunteer your time
The Treasured Babies Program could not continue to operate without contributions from our hardworking and dedicated volunteers. Involved in the Program in so many ways, volunteers sew, knit, crochet and make Angel and Memory boxes, and help with administrative tasks such as sending out orders and packing the gifts.
Our dedicated team of volunteers runs the program on Tuesday and Friday mornings from our location in Mooroolbark, Victoria. Volunteers can also support the program from their own home or community by creating items and posting these to Red Nose’s head office in Melbourne to be included in packs and distributed to where they are needed.
