Hi there, I'm a FTM with my baby due in a week of so. Question - where does the baby sleep during the day? We have a two story house so I wouldn't be bringing a cot or bassinet downstairs, but also assumed I wouldn't take the baby upstairs to nap. She can't sleep on the floor as I've got a large dog. I was looking at baby cocoons but had read they weren't SIDS safe... What do the guidelines advise you do with a baby during the day if they can't sleep in a baby cocoon? I've got a pram bassinet too but assumed that's probably not recommended either due to the sides. Happy to buy something else, just wasn't sure what.. Thanks!!

We recently purchased the Tutti Bambini bassinet (https://www.babybunting.com.au/tutti-bambini-cozee-co-sleeper-bassinet-oak-charcoal.html) Since i can’t find Australian standards for bassinets, can you weigh in on whether this is safe? Three sides are solid fabric and one is mesh; we’ve set it up and it’s quite solid in terms of the base. Thanks!

I want to know if there are any guidelines for how long a baby can be in a car seat during a car trip. I am aware it is not recommended they are left in a capsule for a few hours but is this the case for a car seat also?

My baby is 7 weeks old. She has begun to consistently roll on to her side to sleep when placed on her back. Should I be rolling her back on to her back due to her young age? Also does this count as 'signs of rolling', meaning I should stop swaddling her with her arms in?

We have been given a cot that has been passed down in my husbands family that his grandpa built. It had a drop down mechanism and I have been reading about how they are dangerous.. Should I be using a cot with a drop down feature or should I buy a new one?

My sister co-sleeps with her 9month old son. He's never used a cot of any kind. She's visiting from overseas and is staying with my mother. Even though we got her a travel cot, she puts baby to sleep in her bed (normal adult mattress) in a room alone to nap. I'm so worried about him. Is there less risk now he's 9months and has slept like this since birth?

Hello! I’m currently 6 1/2 months pregnant and researching all about how to keep my little one safe during bedtime. I’m really confused about the use of waterproof mattress protectors and whether they’re linked to the increased risk of SIDS. Could you give some information on if the two are related? I’ve read online that a waterproof mattress protector is important to prevent bacteria and mold growing from baby liquid explosions... but I also read that if the baby rolls over onto their tummy that they won’t be able to breathe as waterproof = non-breathable. What do you suggest? Or do you have any brands that you think are safest to use. I just want my baby to be safe. Thank you for your time.

Hi my baby is 6 months old. She is rolling to her tummy and not back. In her sleep she is rolling onto her face and sleeping like that. Sometimes she turns her head but twice now she has been resting on her face with her nose flat. Any advice?

I have two questions: 1. Bubs is six months and I have just transitioned her out of her bassinet and into her cot due to her starting to roll (back to tummy). I know that’s bumpers are not considered safe. I have found her a few times with her legs in between the slats and I have concerns she may get injured whilst I’m sleeping. Is there anything that is considered safe that can help with this? 2. Also now she has started rolling, when I place her on her back she immediately rolls into her side and sleeps that way. A few times she has also rolled onto her stomach but I have moved her back onto her back due to her not being able to roll belly to back yet. Do I need to continue to do this or is it considered safe if she can get herself onto her stomach?
