Hello, I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I understand that co-sleeping is generally not recommended. However I am not in a financial position to purchase a bassinet (which they will outgrow at 6 months ) and then a crib. I have found this product to help make co-sleeping with my baby safer by Sweet Dreams called 'My Little Bed' : https://www.babybunting.com.au/product/sweet-dreams-my-little-bed-60167 My question is, is it still safe to swaddle my baby if she is going to sleep in this? I am happy to remove the bumpers if that would make it safer to swaddle. I was planning on purchasing the Love to Dream swaddles. Thank you very much.
Red Nose Education
Red Nose has information in relation to co-sleeping & how to make the sleep environment safer for baby.
eg a baby less than 3 months of age/premature/small for gestational age is at increased risk when co-sleeping

A bassinet is often not necessary as a baby can be placed for sleep in a cot from birth.
A bassinet is not suitable for a baby once they are attempting to roll - this can be from as early as 3 months. (Most babies are rolling between 4 - 5 months)
Here is Red Nose information about swaddling/wrapping. Not all babies respond well to wrapping.
It is not recommended to swaddle a baby who is sharing a sleep surface.
See also information about swaddle suits/pods/cocoon. Avoid the use of any swaddle product that uses velcro bands, buttons or zips.
Red Nose recommends the use of a traditional swaddle - light cotton or muslin wrap. Red Nose does not recommend the use of swaddle bags when baby’s arms are enclosed as an alternative to traditional swaddle.

Co-sleeper devices do not reduce the risk to baby of adult bedding/pillows covering head & face of baby.
Red Nose does not recommend the use of sleep positioners or any restraint to prevent baby rolling.
Avoid the use of products that have a soft base & soft, padded sides.
