Hello, what is the advice around babies sleeping in car capsules? It looks really practical to be able to take the baby in the capsule and then clip it on to the pram but is it safe for the baby to stay in the capsule e.g to go to the shops, and for how long? Thanks so much smile

Red Nose Education

Car capsules are important (& legal) safety devices for use when transporting babies in the car.
They are not recognized as a sleeping device for periods of time beyond that.
If you are taking a long drive, baby should be removed from the capsule/car seat, when the driver stops for rest during the drive.

Red Nose has the following information

Once the car journey is over it is very important that you remove baby from the car seat or capsule, even if this means waking baby, because it is not safe for baby to spend long periods in car seats, capsules or infant seats.
Car or baby seats may cause baby’s neck to flex forward which may block baby’s airway not allowing airflow
Never leave baby in carriers on shopping carts, counters, or other high locations
