Product Safety Australia develops & monitors all safety standards in Australia.
They provide information on their web site about recalled products or you can elect to receive notifications from them directly.

As far as safe sleeping is concerned, the only products that carry standards are cots & portable cots (Mandatory) & mattress firmness (Voluntary)
