Tarni

Hey! I have seen a lot and know not to let Bub sleep with soft toys however I have begun wondering about hard toys??? Teethers etc. Lilly is 8 months old now and I’m wondering if it’s okay to leave her alone in the cot with a teether at nap time?

Red Nose Education

Red Nose recommendations for soft toys are:

Keep soft toys out of the sleeping environment for babies under seven months of age because they may cover the nose and mouth and interfere with breathing.
Some babies over seven months of age may appreciate a small object such as a soft toy to provide comfort and connection (transitional object) during times of separation from their parent.

Hard toys. like teethers, are unlikely to be a suffocation risk…... (as long as there are no parts that might come loose or be bitten off & cause a choking risk)
