Hi Can you tell me if a cot has a label saying "conforms to the Consumer Products Safety Commission" is it likely to conform to the AS/NZ standard for cots? Is there a way to get a cot retrospectively approved with the AS/NZ standard? Does the AS ever have a springs plus wire base or is always slats? Thanks for your time.

CSPC is a USA standard.
I’m not sure if they meet the same requirements as Australian/NZ standards.

Product Safety Australia (ACCC) is the equivalent in Australia. They develop & monitor safety standards for products in Australia.
Their “definition” of a cot is:
“Household cots are fixed sleeping enclosures for infants and babies. Cots can be rectangular with sides and ends made of slats or filler bars. Often one side drops down to give easy access to the baby. Cots can also be circular made with walls that have no slats. Some cots can convert to toddler beds.”

There is no mention of a wire base.

How old is the cot?

This is the information provided by Product Safety Australia in relation to cot safety.

I have not seen a cot with a wire base for a long time, but we are not aware of when/if any change occurred.
I’m not sure if you can have a cot retrospectively approved.
This would need to be check with Product Safety Australia. - https://www.productsafety.gov.au/products
