Jacinda

Hi, I’m looking at buying a brand new cot from a shop on eBay. It says: “Conforms with Australian and New Zealand Standard AS/NZ 2172 2010” Is this the correct and accurate Australian standards for a cot? The brand is “Sunbury” and model is “Children’s compact cot” Many thanks Jacinda

Hi Jacinda,

Thank you for contacting Red Nose with your question.

Red Nose supports the fact that a safe cot is one that meets Australian Standards as developed by Product Safety Australia.

All new and second-hand cots sold in Australia must meet the current Australian and New Zealand Standard for Cots (AS/NZS 2172:2003) and will carry a label to say so.

Standards are reviewed regularly. The latest review, as far as I am aware, was 2014, but standard requirements were not changed (except for drop side cots)

Regards,
Red Nose
