Hi, Newborn, first time mum. Bub is 4 weeks old. I'm finding that early hours of the morning bub is most unsettled/cluster feeds (breats fed exclusively) & is more reluctant to be put down in his bassinet/wants to be held and close to mum to resettle back to sleep. I don't want to cosleep for safety reasons and majority of the time he does go down happily in his bassinet, but is there any tips to ensure his safety whislt he is in the bed with me for those few hours of a morning? Should I remove all bedding and sleep with a sleeping bag myself and leave him in his seperate sleeping bag? Are there safe sleeping nests for inside the bed or any other tips? I have tried setting a timer to prevent myself from falling asleep whilst feeding him/attempt to resettle him bassinet just finding we have this recurring pattern and feeling guilty about it. Any tips much appreciated

Red Nose Education

Red Nose recommends that the safest place for baby is in their own safe sleep space in parent or caregivers’ room.
However, Red Nose does have some information about risk minimization when it comes to co-sleeping, including situations to avoid to avoid & how to make sleep environment less risky.

Red Nose also has more information which highlights some specific risks to consider in your situation.
The baby is less than three months of age, was born pre-term or was born small for gestational age,
