Hi there, I understand that newborns need a firm mattress with tight fitted sheets/mattress protector. I’ve been told by multiple people to layer multiple sheets/mattress protectors to make bedding changes in the night easier. But I’d assume this would impact breathability. Just wondering if this is indeed safe to do or not. Thanks,

Yes, Red Nose does recommend a firm mattress for baby.

Red Nose does not recommend anything soft/padded or loose placed underneath baby in addition to a well-fitting mattress protector & a fitted sheet.
Multiple layers placed under the top sheet may reduce the firmness of the mattress.
