Hi there, my son is 13 weeks and we are using Love to Dream ‘transition’ bags with the wings attached as he is not rolling yet. However in reviewing safe sleeping resources, it seems that the preference is for babies arms to be out, regardless of whether baby can or can’t roll - could you advise please? Also, with regard to the advice to cease wrapping once a baby can roll, does this also mean to cease using sleeping bags? Even with arms out, babies legs are still inside the bag; does this hinder their ability to roll back onto their back? Thank you!

Red Nose Education

Red Nose recommends to “modify a wrap” once baby is around 3 mths of age in preparation for rolling (if they are not already rolling)

If baby is rolling (or making an attempt to roll, then wrapping needs to be ceased.

Once baby is rolling they need their arms out & the space of a cot (not basssinet)
Using a sleeping bag is fine once they are rolling. Ensure there is space for their legs.
