Hi there, We would like to get an insert for our Britax baby car seat. Are these red nose approved and safe for the baby to sit in during car trips? If not what would you recommend for the baby's comfort and to hold the neck from moving too much in the car? https://www.babykingdom.com.au/britax-unity-infant-comfort-insert.html

Red Nose Education

Red Nose does not approve or endorse any specific products or recommend the use of any padding or restraint devices for baby.
Check with Child Safety Organizations in relation to padded inserts in baby car seats.
How old is your baby?
Depending on the age/size of baby there could be potential for baby turning face toward the insert when sleeping - this could have a similar effect to use of a bumper in cot where suffocation may be a risk.

Red Nose has the following information.

Red Nose does not recommend positional products such as anti-roll devices and items that fasten a baby into a sleeping position. Products that restrict the movement of a baby or a baby’s head should not be used. This is because there are no Australian Standards for these products and case studies have shown that these products can be unsafe.
