Mary

Hi, with so many choices for capsules it’s been a challenge finding what we think is the right fit for our family. We’ve settled on a Cybex Cloud Q as it is the only one we could find in Australia that can ‘lie flat’ when not in the car and therefore be used with a pram in lieu of a bassinet. Is there any information on the safety of capsules such as this that are able to lie flat as an alternative to bassinets in prams? (Noting, we don’t intend to use it as a permanent sleep solution outside of the pram)

Red Nose Education

Product Safety Australia (ACCC) develops & monitors all standards in Australia.
While there are currently no safety standards for bassinets Product Safety & Red Nose do have recommendations for them, (Product Safety is currently developing standards for bassinets.)

There are Mandatory standards for pram & car seats/capsules but these do no include standards as a safe sleep environment.

Does the capsule/car seat meet Mandatory Australian Standards?
