I work in an early learning service. Advice sourced last year regarding toys in cots was that "Some babies over seven months of age may appreciate a small object such as a soft toy to provide comfort and connection (transitional object) during times of separation from their parent." I was wondering if the current advice is for no toys to be in a cot with a sleeping child under 2 years of age?

Red Nose Education

Red Nose has made no changes to the information about soft toys/comforters.
The information statement is being reviewed at the moment.

However,  ACECQA has stated that no coft toys should be in the sleep environment for infants
