Is it recommended that you Swaddle a newborn as the best and safest sleeping approach?
Red Nose Education
While Red Nose does not include swaddling/wrapping in the 6 Safe Sleeping Recommendations, we do have some comprehensive information if you choose to wrap/swaddle.
These include.
Use a light cotton or muslin wrap.
Swaddle firmly but not too tight, especially around chest & hips.
Always have baby on back if swaddled - once baby is attempting to roll swaddling should be ceased.
Modify wrap/swaddle at 3 months (if not rolling) to have arms free.
