Les

My 2.5year old is in a bed and has been for 8mths now. Now with winter she’s waking up cold (tummy and back cold and she’s shaking just wanting to be held). What would be the best doona for a Melbourne winter for a toddler. And what rating in gsm and tog. Thanks

Red Nose Education

Red Nose has no specific information about type/amount of bedding for toddlers in a bed.
Like adults, babies & children have different requirements in relation to bedding amount.
General recommendations for bedding includes using lightweight bedding & to add/remove as the temperature warms or cools.
Sometimes it can be helpful to add more clothing to the child as often they will kick bedding off during sleep.
Red Nose recommends not using large, soft covers eg quilts/doonas while a child is in the cot.
