Sam

My baby was born prematurely at 28 weeks gestation. Is it safe to use a love to dream sleep bag that meets the minimum weight requirement (2.2kgs) with a preemie baby instead of swaddling?

Red Nose Education

Red Nose recommends using a traditional (light weight cotton/muslin) wrap/swaddle.

See also information on the use of swaddle suits/bags or cocoons.
Some of the swaddle suits/bags may risk baby’s head & face being covered, if baby brings hands to the face.
Many babies like to touch their face &/or suck on fingers.

Any form of swaddling/wrapping should be ceased when baby is showing attempts to roll, which may be as early as 3 months.
