Worried mumma

My mother in law has asked if my 2 year old can have some animal toys in his cot at her house when she minds him once a week. We only allow him one comforter that he’s had since 7-8months as a sleep association. Is it dangerous to have teddies in a 2 year olds cot? I feel uneasy about it. But need some information to show her.

Red Nose Education

The major concern at this age, if multiple soft toys/teddies/pillows in the cot, is the risk of child using them to help him climb out of the cot.
Older babies in a cot can be at an increased risk of a sleeping accident by using pillows and bumpers as a step to climb up and fall out of the cot.
