My question is about portacots, and more specifically a bassinet attachment that comes with it. I've popped the link below to the one we have. I want to know if it is safe to have a baby sleep in the bassinet attachment. I know there is no national safety standard when it comes to bassinets, but there is for portacots. We've read through the guidelines for keeping a bassinet as safe as possible (appropriate air flow, safe measurements, mattress that fits and doesn't have gaps etc) and it seems fine but safe sleep really is something that keeps me up at night. Folding cots are designed for temporary use. They are also known as portable cots, travel cots or portacots because they are easily collapsible for transport.

Folding cots should only be used as temporary sleeping facilities. They are not suitable for long term sleeping arrangements (no more than a few days). These cots are subject to more wear and tear due to folding and are generally less robust than permanent sleeping enclosures such as household cots.
