Ben

My son, 4 months, has started moving around his cot and ends up upside down most mornings , which is fine. I have noticed that he quite often ends up near the sides with an arm or leg, or both, hanging out of the cot. I have been looking at the airwrap mesh sides to help keep him inside the cot, and was wondering how safe they are? Thanks,

Red Nose Education

Red Nose does not recommend the use of any bumpers in and around the cot. Red Nose does not have any research to indicate that babies suffer any serious or long term injury for bumping up against cot bars. Some families might consider sleeping their baby in a baby safe sleeping bag to help keep legs from sticking through cot bars. https://rednose.org.au/article/at-what-age-can-i-introduce-cot-bumpers-and-pillows
