This may be a silly question but when can babies safely sleep with a comforter/snuggly toy? I would like to get one to help my 8 month old settle in her cot but unsure if it’s safe. Thank you

Red Nose Education

A soft toy can be placed in baby’s cot after 7 months.
Soft toys should never be placed in the sleeping environment of an infant under seven months of age. Soft objects in the cot can be a suffocation risk

Keep soft toys out of the sleeping environment for babies under seven months of age because they may cover the nose and mouth and interfere with breathing.
Some babies over seven months of age may appreciate a small object such as a soft toy to provide comfort and connection (transitional object) during times of separation from their parent.

Avoid soft toys that are excessively large, which may risk suffocation, or one that is very small, or have small parts, that may risk choking.
