George

We bought a pure latex mattress for our first child's cot. The mattress two years later is still in very good condition so we want to use the same mattress for our next child due shortly. I understand that latex prohibits the growth of harmful moulds, dust mites etc. and is allergen free. Will the mattress be OK for the next child?

Hi George,

Thank you for contacting Red Nose with your question.

Red Nose recommends that it is safe to sleep a child on a second hand mattress as long as the mattress is still firm, flat, clean and fits snuggly inside the cot frame. For more information please see: https://rednose.org.au/article/second-hand-mattresses.

Kind regards
