What is the safety recommendation for clipping/attaching a dummy onto babies sleep wear?

Product Safety Australia (ACCC) has the following safety information in relation to dummy use..

Never use ribbon or cord to attach dummies to children’s clothing, cots or prams.
These ties can get caught and wrap around a child’s neck and cause strangulation.

Red Nose has the following information about some of the potential risks when using a dummy.

Other potential disadvantages include accidents (airway obstruction), strangulation by the cord and eye injuries, and dental malocclusion
