Grief and Loss Videos

These videos are designed for clinical staff across all areas of the health system, not just maternity. We recognise that the loss of a pregnancy, baby or infant can occur in a range of settings, including emergency departments, neonatal units, paediatrics, general wards, and community-based care.

The videos and resources have been co-designed with First Nations families, refugee and migrant communities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, those living in rural and remote areas, young mothers, community leaders, and health professionals.

They are designed to support clinical staff in having sensitive, respectful, and culturally informed conversations with grieving families. These tools can be used as both informational and educational resources to help provide effective and culturally safe bereavement care at the time of loss, assist families to access appropriate follow-up support, and promote staff wellbeing and self-care.

Wherever you work, these resources are here to support you in offering compassionate, culturally responsive care when families need it most.
