I would like to know what kind of doona/bedding to use for preschoolers? I dress my 3.5yr old to the temperature of the room, and she currently has a light cotton/wool doona from Adairs Kids. However, she quite often becomes extremely sweaty not long after she falls asleep. Recently, she was so sweaty it woke her up just 45mins after going down (and she had no temp - just wet with sweat). My husband thinks we should use a down doona (eg duck down) instead of one with wool. Any recommendations?

Is there any advice on pj with buttons I bought some by mistake, I don't believe they are safe, but I've been rejected for the return I believe button could be pulled off and choking hazard

Can baby safely sleep in polyester microfleece material if paired with appropriate sleeping bag tog rating and room temperature?

Hi, In winter, my 8 month old's room varies in temperature significantly from the time she goes down at night until she wakes in the morning. When she goes down, it's usually 21 degrees however by 4am, it has dropped to 15. The tog that is appropriate for 21 is way too thin for 15 degrees and visa versa. Keeping the room temp stable is not possible as I don't like keeling the split system on at night. If I dress her for 15 (3.5 tog, 1.0 onesie and wonder cool singlet) despite it being 20/21 degrees, what is the overheating risk? Is my only option to change her half way through the night?

Hello we will be living in a caravan once baby is 8 weeks old. There is no room for a bassinet or cot but the bunks have a mesh enclosure so we are thinking the baby will need to sleep in the bunk straight away. Can a baby this young sleeping any mattress or is there a particular firmness it needs to be? Thank you.

My baby likes to have her arms out so we swaddle below the arms rather than tuck them in. She sometimes gets too cold though as she inadvertently pushes the blanket down so her chest is out of the blanket. How do we keep her warm enough?

Hi I’m using a love to dream swaddle tonight for the first time. It’s getting colder. My baby has a singlet, bonds jumpsuit and tog 1 sleeping bag. I have put a Muslin wrap over the top as per red nose guidelines - do you need the wrap to keep them from rolling or is the sleeping bag enough? They are already rolling to their side. 2 weeks old !!!

My 5 month old has started rolling back to tummy but isn’t able to roll tummy to back. She keeps rolling over onto her tummy to sleep. Do we leave her like this or move her? She liked to bury her face in the mattress - she is on a new breathable cot mattress. Is this safe?

Hi, We have been lent an 18 month old roger armstrong bassinet from a friend. 2 other babies have slept in it for a total of about 4-6 months. Should I be getting a new mattress for it? Or is the one it came with still safe after other babies have slept in it? Thanks

Hello I understand that weighted blankets are a hazard to babies due to suffocation risk etc but what about a weighted sleep sack ? Is their any guidelines as to whether these are safe ? Dreambabyco an American Company have made one claiming they were safe however American legislation is different to Australian so I’m wanting to find out what Australian legsitlation or regulations or guidelines we have here have to say as you can get them posted over ?
