Hi! I have a 2y2m old who is still in the cot. He can get his leg over the side and get out of his sleeping bag so I think we need to move him. It’s a boori sleigh cot that turns into a toddler bed. Is it safest to take both sides off or leave the back cot side on? Do you need any rail on the open side or is it safest to leave it completely open? There is an extra rail I think is for this purpose . We got given the cot without instructions, but the online ones off boori website show the junior bed set up with no sides at all. Thanks!

It certainly is time your son moves to his bed.
Follow the instructions that come with the cot (or online)
Whether you use sides on the cot or no sides at all are a personal (& safety) preference.
Have a look at our cot to bed resources, which includes the cot to bed brochure which can be downloaded.
A child no longer sleeping in a cot has greater access to all living areas. Before your child graduates to a bed, check your child’s room and throughout the house for possible hazards.
