Mira Moulds

Hi, I recently bought a portacot for my 3mth old that also has a bassinet you can attach. Is it safe to use a sheet over the mattress? I’ve tucked in a thin cotton sheet but it makes the mattress bulky and stick up in places which makes me uncomfortable. So I’m thinking of not using a sheet but then she’ll be sleeping straight on the plastic mattress. Is that an issue also?

Have you tucked the sheet in too tightly?
You’re correct the mattress should be flat for baby to sleep on.
Does the Portacot meet Australian Standards?

It is important to only use the mattress that comes with the cot.
Probably best to use a sheet unless the manufacturer recommends otherwise.
