Hi there; we have a 4 month old who is showing signs of rolling. we are going to be travelling for 2 months and looking at a porta cot? On my Research it says that if a porta cot passes both Australian and international standards it can be used for longer term use, but I am worried 2 months is a long time. As we are driving around, it’s not practical for us to bring a cot with us. Can we use a porta cot for this long? If It meets all the standards?

Red Nose Education

Red Nose recommends that a portacot should meet the Mandatary Australian Standards (AS/NZS:2195)
I am not aware of the International standards recommendation.

While the use of a portacot is recommended for temporary use, a holiday is generally a period of temporary use.
Have a look at the info below which outlines what to look for when using the cot, especially the correct working of the lock mechanisms, integrity of mesh sides , correct use of bedding/mattress & weight limit for use.
