Hi there, We just bought a stokke v2 cot second hand that is in excellent condition. The person we bought it from says the mattress is new and was custom made from Clarke rubber. The dimensions seem great as there is no gap between cot and mattress. This is the foam they used: https://www.clarkrubber.com.au/products/25028p-medium-density-foam-23-130 and he said it was 75mm thick. Is this mattress safe? Unfortunately v2 of the cot has been discontinued so any new mattress we get will have to be custom made instead of bought directly from the brand. We're planning on using a bassinet and then moving baby into cot around 6 months. Thanks!

Red Nose Education

Red Nose recommendations for a mattress is that it is firm, clean, well-fitting & flat (not elevated)
There is also a Voluntary Standard for mattress firmness.
Red Nose has no requirement for a specific fabric.

See also Red Nose information about a safe cot.
Do you have the information/assembly guide for this cot? This should have details of Safety Standards Compliance.

Bassinets can be a useful alternative to a cot in the first few months.
Red Nose recommends that baby is moved to a cot from bassinet once baby is showing signs of/attempting to roll.
This can be as early as 3 months & most babies are rolling by 4-5 months of age.
