I am currently overseas and have borrowed a travel cot that appears to have a less firm mattress that would unlikely meet Australian standards. Do you have any recommendations as to firm Up a mattress or create a safer sleeping environment?

Red Nose Education

Red Nose only recommendation is to use a portacot that meets Mandatory Australian, New Zealand Standards.(AS/NZS:2195)
Also includes only using the mattress that come with the cot.

Product Safety Australia (ACCC) develop & monitor all safety standards in Aust….. recommends to get a new mattress from the original supplier if it needs to be replaced.
Is the rest of the portacot ok? - mesh intact & locking mechanism working?

How old is your baby?
What country are you travelling in? Does the cot meet safety standards for that country?
