Brittany

My 7 week old struggles sleeping during the day and is like to get a total of 2 hours during the day unless they fall asleep on me during a feed but then has long stretches at night, sometimes up to 8 hour, is this safe to do so? We are so use to waking him up every 4 hours for a feed, so just confused now.

Red Nose Education

Baby’s sleep patterns will vary.
Your question is beyond Red Nose Safe Sleeping recommendations, so I suggest you discuss this with your Child/Maternal Health Nurse for some information,
It i important that baby is placed for sleep on their back on a firm flat surface. There are some risks associated with holding a baby with you is you are on a lounge/sofa (or other surface) particularly if it is likely you may fall asleep.

What State are you from?
There are also many local State Services that provide online/telephone support.

Raising Children Network has some information
