Tash

We have a family who is refusing to take off religious beads/ necklaces and jewellery from his two children 10 months and 2 years olds. Where do we stand with families. We have a risk assessment in place for this to be removed upon putting child to sleep?

Red Nose Education

Has there been a conversation about this with the parents of the children which includes the Centres requirement to meet regulations?

ACECQA & NSW Dept of Ed - ECEC have information from a Regulatory perspective.

ACECQA - P4
“Any clothing or jewellery that could pose a strangulation or choking hazard must be removed before the infant or child is placed in the sleep space.”
