Find Belonging in a Relaxed Setting
At Red Nose Australia, we know that healing after the loss of a child is a unique and deeply personal journey. Our Community Connections Activities offer relaxed, informal spaces where you can meet others who truly understand your grief, without the pressure of a structured conversation. Whether it’s a picnic in the park, a run club, a Pilates class or another shared activity, these gatherings are designed to create foster belonging in a warm, welcoming environment.
What Are Community Connections Activities?
Community Connections Activities are a way to step gently into togetherness, at your own pace. They offer space to:
- Build meaningful bonds: Meet other families who’ve walked a similar path and form relationships that can grow into lasting support
- Let your guard down: We know how hard it can be to navigate the world as a bereaved parent. At these gatherings, you’re surrounded by people who understand the same emotions, triggers, and silences you carry. There’s no need to brace for insensitive questions or comments, and no need to justify tears or laughter – we’ve seen and felt it all
- Find moments of lightness: Engage in enjoyable activities that let you experience moments of joy, movement, or calm
These gatherings are supported by trained facilitators who hold the space with care – but there’s no expectation to share your story.
Whether you’re bonding during a cooking class, creating bespoke keepsakes with other bereaved parents, or learning grounding breathwork techniques, these activities offer a safe, low-pressure way to be with others who just get it.
Why Join a Community Connections Event?
Grief can be isolating. But in these spaces, you’re not alone.
Many families tell us that being together in a relaxed setting – where there’s no need to explain, justify, or “be okay” – helps them feel seen, held, and less isolated. It’s not about fixing anything. It’s about walking side by side, making the journey a little less lonely.
Community Connections Activities are about finding belonging through shared presence, where empathy, support, and quiet understanding are always part of the picture.
