Going camping in Feb in a OZTent with a 5 month old for first time. What brands are the best portable bassinets (on the ground with bug net) for 5month old while away camping in a tent. If it’s hot he will sleep in bonds singlet so want mozzie net over incase bugs get inside tent… can fit one on legs but would prefer one that’s on the floor so inline with us on blow up mattress.

Red Nose Education

Most babies are rolling between 4-5mths of age & need to be moved to a cot, not slept in a bassinet once rolling.
Babies need the space of a cot (& arms free - not swaddled) when they are rolling (or attempting to roll)

We would recommend that you use a portact/portable cot for travel (not bassinet or bassinet attachment).
Use a portacot that meets the Mandatory Australian Standards (AS/NZS:2195)

Only use the mattress that comes with the cot, no extra padding.
Inflatable mattresses are not recommended for babies as they are not firm enough.

Red Nose has the following suggestions when camping with a baby.
Ensure adequate ventilation & plenty of fluids especially as it will be hot.
