Hello, My bub just turned 8 months (born at 36 weeks and 5 days) and I was wondering if it is safe to introduce a comforter now? Bubs can roll tummy to back and back to tummy and has been sleeping in a sleeping bag since 10 weeks old. I’m finding that when he shows tired signs, I put him in his cot but the moment I do that, he becomes playful and starts to roll around. He also needs help to fall asleep by rocking either in the cot or in our arms. The comforter we have says is made of polyester. Thanks so much in advance.

Hi. My baby is almost 8 months old. I’m finding she’s waking a lot with a cold head and she seems really uncomfortable. If I lay her on the spare bed in her room she falls asleep straight away and seems content (I don’t fall asleep with her or leave her on the bed unattended). She has torticollis and I think the mattress is too hard for her and is hurting her neck. My mum suggested buying a low pile pure sheepskin underlay for the cot but I am unsure if this is safe for her to sleep in?

Hello! We are expecting our firstborn in July. I have just been given a "Natures Sway" baby hammock that is apparently used as a bed for newborns day or night. We have already purchased a cot that meets Australian standards for its design and mattress. A baby hammock doesn't seem to meet the requirements outlined for baby bedding on your website but is it ok to use? The hammock may be handy to move around the house so the baby can be near by in the day.

I understand I can not use any soft bedding in my baby's cot but I am wondering can I use a fitted woolen mattress protector if I also have a fitted sheet over it?

Hello, Do babies have to be swaddled when they are put in their cot/bassinet to sleep? I have a 3 week old baby who likes to be swaddles to sleep but is also happy to be put in his bassinet (on his back) for a nap during the day in just his bonds wonder suit, with no other blankets or anything else in the bassinet. Is this safe for him to sleep unattended not swaddled?

My child is forced to rest for 30 mins at kindy which encourages her to sleep. I’ve asked the teachers to not let her sleep because if she does she is up all night eg last nite it was 12am!! What rights as a parent do I have concerning my child being forced to rest sleep at kindy. It’s affecting her mental health and sleep patterns and creating stress in our house.
