We are expecting our first baby in the next few months. Could you recommend a specific brand and cot that would best fit the Australian Standards and Red Nose guidelines. Thank you in advance

I have a 5 day old newborn. As soon as you put him down for nappies, in the bassinet, in the cot, wherever, he immediately rolls onto his side and it's not the same direction each time. This is my second baby so I know about safe sleep, we are using the same bassinet and cot mattress as we did for my first so I know it's not those and just something he does. We are using the love to dream swaddle bags and I've tried tucking him in as tightly as possible but still does it and no amount of readjusting stops. What do I do?

Hello, my 5 month old has recently started rolling from back to tummy, but hasn’t yet rolled tummy to back. I place him on his back to sleep but he will roll over in the night. He often will lie face down sucking on the mattress and I’m worried he’ll fall asleep like this. Is there anything I can do?

My son is 2 and we have a cold house. Temp often goes down to 14 degrees in his room. I dress him in a 3.5 tog sleeping bag, 1 tog pyjamas and an extra layer underneath that. He often wakes & I think it’s due to the cold. Is it safe to use a blanket? If so what kind? Weighted, normal?

Can my 14 month old wear a t shirt under a long sleeved onsie to sleep in as its cold? Will this create too much tightness on her neck?

Hi I have purchased a portacot lambs wool underlay for my portacot. My son will be 14 months when we go away. At his age, is it safe to use? We have a fitted sheet that goes in the top to get the wool in place.

We just returned home from the hospital after the birth of our first child. Last night he was unable to be settled the entire night. We are wondering if the room is too cold. We are unsure if we can use the heater on a low setting to help control the room temperature. It got down to 9 degrees last night and although he had many light layers on and a tightly tucked in blanket he was still unsettled and cold. We don’t want to do the wrong thing and cause any issues for our little one.

I believe toxigenic bacteria in mattresses can be related to SIDS, and this can be a risk with a second hand cot mattress. Can the same be said for a standard second hand mattress protector or can a machine wash be enough to remove the bacteria? I have been given one that looks to be in perfect condition and only 5 years old (held in storage). However I am wondering if it is safest to just purchase new. Thanks in advance.

My 5.5 month old had recently started turning from tummy to back and back to tummy. At night she is trying to sleep on her side. She sleeps in a sleeping bag with arms out however I’ve still been putting the inbuilt mittens on her onesie over her hands for extra warmth. Is this a safe sleeping practice ? With her hands covered could this be a danger if she did land on her tummy ?

I am little confused about which advice to follow. My 5 month old started rolling, but can only roll from back to stomach. He now rolls onto his stomach and sleeps there, during the night. I place him on his back to sleep and when I see he has rolled over in the night I reposition him back. How ever 30 minutes later he is bs k to sleeping on his stomach. Do I continue to reposition him overnight or can he roll onto his stomach and sleep there? Thank you

As a health professional, I have a lot of new mums ask about safe sleeping - specifically the breathe eze cosy cribs, to put baby straight into cot. I wanted some advice on this, as some research is stating that due to the materials it is made of, they they are okay to use. Thankyou!

Just wondering if snoo (smart bassinets) are safe? They have a sleep sack that prevent them from rolling over when the bassinet rocks.
