No, the safest place to sleep baby from birth is in their own safe sleep space in the same room as their parent or caregiver for at least the first 6 months.
Beanbags
It may have been suggested by family and friends that you sleep baby on a beanbag. This is not a safe place to sleep a child.
A beanbag is a material sack, usually filled with small soft beads, that is used for seating.
Beanbags may put your child into a position where their breathing can be restricted. When babies sit or lie on a surface that can cause their chin to drop onto their chests they are at a greater risk of their airway being blocked.
The beans are also a choking risk if they come out and they put them into their mouth.
