Should I use a Product to Stop Baby Rolling?

Red Nose does not recommend products such as anti-roll devices and items that fasten a baby into a sleeping position.

Is it Safe to Use Products Designed to Keep Baby in a Particular Position During Sleep?

  • There are no Australian Standards for products that restrict the movement of a baby or a baby’s head
  • Case studies have shown that these products can be unsafe

How Do I Keep Baby Safe?

  • The best way to reduce the risk of SIDS and sleep accidents is to place baby on their back to sleep
  • Make sure baby’s face and head are uncovered
  • Keep baby smoke free at all times
  • Provide a safe sleeping environment such as a cot that meets Australian Standards

Follow the Red Nose Safe Sleep Recommendations to keep baby safe when sleeping.

“I found meeting people in real life who were going through a similar journey helped me greatly. It was so healing to be able to support one another, listen to and share our experiences without judgement or anyone feeling uncomfortable. Without a doubt the peer support I received through Red Nose immensely helped me mentally and emotionally during the times that I needed it the most”
