There is no scientific research that has convinced Red Nose that any specific baby care product reduces the risk of SIDS or sleeping accidents.
Research does tell us these are the safest ways to sleep baby:
- Always place baby on their back to sleep.
- Keep baby’s head and face uncovered.
- Keep baby smoke free at all times.
- Provide a safe sleeping space (a cot with safe mattress and bedding) night and day.
- Sleep baby in their own safe sleeping space in the same room as an adult for the first six months.
- Breastfeed baby.
Following the 6 Red Nose Safe Sleep Recommendations will reduce your child’s risk of SUDI when they are sleeping.
